User settings

The user setting view shows all groups and user settings. The user tree contains of both user groups and single users. Groups have some settings that are set to all the users within the group. Individual users have additional settings.

A group may have subgroups. Users and groups may be moved by dragging and dropping them in the user tree.

An administrator user may see and manage users and groups that are located within the same group as that administrator user.

Note that changes to the administrator user that is currently logged in is disabled.

Administrator rights

An administrator is only enabled to see the users and groups that belongs to the same group where the administrator is located.

Users should always be inside a group

If a user is not placed within a group the user will not have access to any profiles or any other data which the group holds. Therefor all the users in the system should be placed inside a group.

The exception from this rule is the top administrator which must be outside of all groups to be able to access all groups and users.

Groups

A user in the Cargo system should normally belong to a user group.

To add a new group, first select the group in which the new group should be added, then add the new group with the add button under the user tree. There are two different add actions in the add button referrring to groups, Add group and Add group with default users.... The first action will add a new group and the second will first ask for a group name and then add a group with this name and also add three users within this group, one administrator user, one personnel user and one customer user. The default users will have the same login as the group followed by admin, staff and customer. The default password for the automatically added users will be the same as the login name.

To delete a group, first select the group and the click the delete button (-) below the user tree.

The group name is only used to simplify the identification of the group throughout the rest of the admin interface.

The setting for Profile for external files from Cargo Dispatch (DnD) is the profile to use for files that are dropped on the Cargo Dispatch corner actions. Select a profile that is allowed for the Cargo Dispatch users to see or the files thar are dropped by the user will not be able to see the result files.

If the checkbox enable grid view is selected the Cargo Dispatch users in this group will be enabled to view the result in the grid view.

The rest of the group settings are seen below

Input restrictions

The input restrictions is the first main restrictions set on the group. For customer users in the group only the selected profiles will be available when the customer sends data to Cargo. For the dispatch users in the group it is only possible to search data that comes from the selected profiles.

Personnel restrictions

The personnel restrictions are additional restrictions besides the input and status restrictions which may be used to restrict the personnel users in their searches. In this restriction view different job and/or file properties may be set to create the searchable view for a user.

Personnel input

The personnel input forms the basic sources for the Cargo Dispatch users in this group. A source may be added that is enabling the user to search the Cargo system. Additional filters may be set on each source. If no filter is set the search will be performed in the whole Cargo system but still within the restrictions set in the input, status and personnel restriction setup.

There are three types of sources, regular (static) sources, Cargo Searches (dynamic sources) and external database sources. The Cargo search and external database search are setup individually in other setup areas in Cargo Admin. The static regular sources are recommended not to be used, instead use Cargo Searches.

If the option show missing files is selected the files that are in the system but the Cargo server can not find the files in their assumed location are shown in the Cargo Dispatch. If this is not selected these files will not be visible in the Cargo Dispatch. These files will be shown with a special red line through their row in the result table.

If the option show data located outside the firewall is selected the files that are delivered but still only available on the Cargo server outside the firewall will be visible for the Cargo Dispatch user. These files will be shown with a special orange line through their row in the result table.

Result columns/Metadata

The result columns are the columns that will be available for the users in the group. There are different sets of columns depending on the view in the Cargo Dispatch user interface, the job and file view. Each view have a set of default values and additional columns may be added. The setup for a column has the column visible name, it's value which is not editable for the default columns and a mapping. The value may be a static value or a value from for example the job or file properties.

The mapping may be used to translate one value into another.

Job/File property value as a column

Use the macro %JOB_META[<k>]% and %FILE_META[<k>]% as value in the column setup to get the job and file property with the key <k>. The <k> is the ID of a property in the job and file properties. If a profile for example has a field where the email is entered and this field has the ID 'email' (in the profile component setup), the setup for the column to show this value should be '%JOB_META[email]%'.

The Metadata shows all the metadata fields currently available in the system. The fields that are selected will be visible for the user. Default, new metadata fields are automatically checked.

User settings
There are three different user roles;

The user name is used througout the Cargo system to identify the user. The primary email field is for future use. The user login and password is used when the user is connecting to the Cargo server. One user in the Cargo system may have an empty user login and password. This user will become a 'public' user which doesn't need to login to see any profiles. The user type for a public user should be customer.

The extra contact information fields may be used to add contact information for a certain user.
